There is a proposal for the IAOA to become member of the InfoTerm
standardization facilitation body (http://www.infoterm.info/). The issue will
be prepared and discussed during the next meeting. (09)
More generally, the EC is interested in exploring ways to establish connection
with standardization initiatives. (010)
The EC is considering to start a new SIG on ontology architecture and design. (011)
The EC decided to streamline the "IAOA Supported Event" process, and will be
having one Liaison (member or executive councilor) instead of two (one member
and one executive councilor.) The EC hopes that IAOA members will take active
part on proposing and following events of interest to the association. In this
perspective, the EC will give priority to IAOA members (not in the EC) as "EC
appointed Liaison" for supported events. (012)
The EC proceeded with the analysis of the Article IX "Special Interest Groups
and Regional Chapters" of the Bylaws draft. (013)
The International Workshop on Ontologies and Conceptual Modeling Onto.Com 2011
- http://www.inf.ufes.br/~gguizzardi/ontocom-2011/ - has been announced. It is
the first activity of the SIG on Ontologies and Conceptual Modeling, and
members are encouraged to participate. (014)
