The IAOA EC completed the discussion on the organization of the Advisory Board.
A list of candidates for the first Advisory Board has been presented and accepted.
The President with the help of the Vice-President and the Secretary will contact the candidates.

The IAOA EC put down the main elements of a policy for event sponsorship -- i.e. Events which will show up as IAOA "Supported Events" on our website in the future.
Different types of sponsorships have been discussed. Requests for sponsorship will be taken into
consideration depending on the quality of the event organization and the topics.
At minimum, the IAOA requests that at least one of the event organizers be an IAOA member. This member will make a proposal (for sponsorship), coordinate with an IAOA-EC assigned champion, follow-up on the event for the IAOA association, and make a report after the event. The reports of sponsored events will be made available to IAOA-members.
Once finalized, the policy will be posted in the IAOA website - where, in additional to "IAOA Events" a new webpage for "Supported Events" will be created.

The IAOA EC reached the conclusion that both the IAOA-general and the IAOA-member lists should be used since they provide different aims:
- The IAOA-general list is used to distribute general information to interested people, this will be an "announcement list" where subscribers can only receive messages, and will not be able to post.
- The IAOA-member list is used to provide services and coordinate activities reserved to IAOA members, it is also used to communicate and distribute relevant calls and announcements among the membership
(like calls for papers, job openings, etc.). IAOA members can post in this mailing list without restrictions. Note: the IAOA EC would want to defer discussions of general subjects like "what is an ontology" to the [ontolog-forum] discussion list, where those conversations have been going on for years, and where there is a larger community that would be interested in the discussion.

(End of the Report)
