IAOA is pleased to have been one of the co-organizers of Ontology
Summit 2010, the annual event that has just come to a successful
conclusion. Revolving around the theme of "Creating the Ontologists
of the Future," this year's Ontology Summit conveners have spent more
than 3 months delving into the various aspects on the educate and
train ontologists. They surveyed the present and future landscape of
the field, what employers of ontologists need or are looking for,
discussed what skills and knowledge ontologists should have, and
synthesized them into a set of recommendations. That work culminated
in the "Ontology Summit 2010 Communique" which can be found at:

We want to draw your attention to this document, request that you
review it, and send us your endorsement* if you support the spirit and
