The IAOA EC has fixed time and date of the first IAOA Assembly. It will take
place on May 13th in the afternoon. Indicative starting time: 4pm. The IAOA EC
will make sure there is plenty of time to discuss the topics in the agenda.
Among the important issues, there are: approval of the bylaws, approval of the
budget, election of the IAOA EC, report of the activities done during the first
year, presentation of the status of the Association, initiatives for the future. (09)
The IAOA EC has spent most of the meeting to discuss ways of participation at
the Assembly. The possibility of online participation and voting has been
considered. For technical reasons it was decided that it is preferable to
decouple the EC election and the budget approval although this option cannot be
implemented at this first IAOA Assembly. (010)
The IAOA EC discussed possible election processes. A preference emerged for a
virtual (electronic) election of the IAOA EC (to ensure all IAOA members can
vote) that should take place before the Assembly. The IAOA EC decided to form a
committee to organize the election process and the Assembly. A call will be
distributed to the IAOA members that want to participate. Borgo and Yim will
coordinate this group. The result will be a proposal to be presented at the
IAOA EC for discussion. After the Assembly, the procedure will be revised for
improvements and finally adopted by the Assembly. (011)
The IAOA EC noticed that FOIS registration page and the FOIS website are not
clear and information about IAOA should be added. The local organizer took note
of this request. (012)
Finally, IAOA EC is considering a new round of publicizing initiatives aiming
in particular at conferences and other similar events. (013)
