All,
It looks like we will have an additional $1000 Euros for grants to the Summer School, for a total of $4000 Euros. So please reconsider your candidates in light
of that.
I’ll repost the criteria for the grants for Werner shortly.
Thanks,
Leo

I don’t think we’ve had Werner’s comments yet. From the other three groups I’d be inclined to go for
Axxxxx
Nxxxxx
Rxxxxx
Sxxxxx
Sxxxxx
definitely, and possibly Rxxxxx (part-funding) and Axxxxx (although he suggests 850 I think he could get cheaper
accommodation). But we need to wait for Werner before finalising.
What do others think?
Folks,
Do we have a final determination of the applicants and their grants?
Thanks,
Leo
Robert and all,
It seems to me that we should consider the amount people ask for when
we rank them. For example, one of my applicants if from Brasil and
another one is from Venezuela. The one from Brasil is arguably a
little bit more qualified, but he asks for us to cover the costs for
his whole trip. This is estimated by him as 1930 Euros. Even if this
is a little bit pessimistic, it is still more than half of our budget.
In contrast, the person from Venezuela asks for a grant that covers
accommodation (below 400 Euros if we use one of the options Stefano
and Claudio mentioned). This is why I suggested to accepted her and to
reject the fellow from Brasil.
I attach a file with comments on my six candidates.
Best
Fabian
