PeterYim: @Brian - ref. MichaelGruninger's (and JohnBateman's) "Ontologies and Standards" mini-series - see: http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?OOR/ConferenceCall_2012_02_07#nid34FS Brian Davis: NCRI (national Cancer Research institute) Britain Brian Davis: Web site for "Cancer InfoMatrix" = http://www.ncri-onix.org.uk/portal/#S24 Brian Davis: this is an interface that might serve some use cases Brian Davis: The other system is DISR (Defense Information Standards Resource) developed within the DoD. ToddSchneider: Peter, (the cat is off my lap) is there anything from the sessions on licensing that would help us figure out what the operational requirements may be? PeterYim: @Todd - at a high level, yes ... when we get to real implementation, we probably need a lawyer at hand ToddSchneider: Peter, could you organize a few of these 'high level' aspects of licensing as a starting point for understanding on how OOR will implement its licensing mechanism? ToddSchneider: What are the set of interactions that may occur with respect to multiple licenses (e.g., in the context of modular or multiple ontologies)? ToddSchneider: Any OOR license mechanism, metadata or enforcement, will be realized in the Gatekeeper. ToddSchneider: Michael, when considering OOR extensions to OMV consider how a/its representation (e.g., OWL, CL) can be use to generate code (automatically). Brian Davis: mapping of OMV to NCBO Bioportal and CTS2 = https://wiki.nci.nih.gov/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=53020090 Brian Davis: sorry, better URl is here: https://wiki.nci.nih.gov/x/ugUpAw ToddSchneider: Brian, so the URL of the mapping of OMV to NCBO Bioportal is just that, a mapping? Brian Davis: heh, depends on your definition of mapping. It was an analysis of fields that are in OMV (from our understanding) and Sherri and Trish Whetzel saying: yes, that field SEEMS to be in NCBO bioportal. Same with Harold doing the "mapping" of OMV to CTS2 (tho in harolds case, I am pretty sure he DID go down to code level. ToddSchneider: Brain, my interest/goal is to automatically operational code directly from an ontological representation. Brian Davis: In the case of OMV to BioPortal mapping, it was probably using the NCBO BioPortal interface elements... ToddSchneider: Brain, my interest/goal is to automatically generate operational code directly from an ontological representation. Brian Davis: yeah... so I don't know how NCBO represents the metadata for ontologies (eg, OMV like fields). sorry. PeterYim: ref. EDM Council and related work at the financial industry - see: http://www.edmcouncil.org/about.aspx & http://www.edmcouncil.org/sec_semantics.aspx Brian Davis: do you all know abou tthe NCBO bioportal Hackathon March 26-27? https://www.certain.com/system/profile/web/index.cfm?PKwebID=0x314432abcd&varPage=home KenBaclawski: Yes, I knew about the Hackathon. Maybe someday we will have an OORathon...
