[07:32] MikeBennett: Hi all, I can only stay on for the first half hour. [07:50] PeterYim: [action] ref. http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?OOR/ConferenceCall_2012_12_04#nid3IMH - MikeDean will propose text to insert into the critical task list (to reflect recently established strategy and tactics) [08:02] MikeBennett: I must hop off to my next call now. [08:04] PeterYim / MikeDean: we need to make our case for relevance [08:28] PeterYim: MikeBennett will be at the OMG Burlingame (CA) meeting on Dec-13 (along with ElisaKendall and PatHayes,) and therefore, neither of them will likely be showing up at the OntologySummit2013 pre-launch community brainstorm and planning session. [08:05] PeterYim: bye MikeBennett ... look forward to your involvement in OntologySummit2013 [08:08] MikeBennett: Thanks. I do too. [08:09] KenBaclawski: I met with Ivan Herman and Eric Prud'hommeaux. [08:10] MikeDean: ref. http://www.w3.org/People/Eric/ [08:16] KenBaclawski: They suggested starting a W3C Community: http://www.w3.org/community/about/#cg [08:21] KenBaclawski: The OOR would be the service that provides a reliable source of entity types. They liked the idea of the OOR at the W3C, but had no comments about it. [08:26] KenBaclawski: The only constraint is that the OData is moving quickly and any feedback from the SW community must be given soon for it to be included in the draft standard. [08:36] MikeDean: reporting on the SOCoP workshop (with VoCamp) last week [08:36] MikeDean: http://vocamp.org/wiki/GeoVoCampSOCoP2012 [08:37] MikeDean: http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?SocopWorkshops/Socop2012Workshop [08:43] MikeDean: welcomed participation by working ontologists including AmandaVizedom, MikeDenny, and DougFoxvog [08:47] MikeDean: ref. purl.org ... which provides symlinks to urls [08:47] KenBaclawski: It is possible that PURL could be a mechanism for solving an important issue for OOR which has been part of architecture and use case discussions but which has not received enough explicit attention. [08:48] MikeDean: question about where to post resulting ontologies where the base URI is resolvable - ideally OOR could do this [08:55] MikeDean: PURL implementation available at purls.org [08:56] MikeDean: see https://sites.google.com/site/persistenturls/purls-in-the-wild [08:56] MikeDean: note that NCBO actually supports a http://purl.bioontology.org [08:57] PeterYim: persistent access to ontology and content should be good material for an upcoming OOR session [09:02] MikeDean: s/purls.org/purlz.org/ [09:02] PeterYim: next two meetings: Tue 2012.12.11 and then first meeting next year: 2012.01.15, same time, i.e. starting 7:30am PST / 10:30am EST / 4:30pm CET / 15:30 GMT/UTC [09:02] PeterYim: -- session ended: 9:02am PST -- [09:03] List of attendees: KenBaclawski, MikeBennett, MikeDean, PeterYim ---------------
