[1:56] MariaPovedaVillalon12 morphed into MariaPovedaVillalon [2:42] TillMossakowski: HC 07: discussion of OOPS! and Ontohub integration currently taking place at http://webconf.soaphub.org/conf/room/hc-07-integration [3:56] TillMossakowski: Hi Peter, are you there? [3:57] PeterYim: Dial-in: Phone (US): +1 (206) 402-0100 ... Conference ID: 141184# ; or Skype: joinconference ... Conference ID: 141184# . [3:59] PeterYim: Hi Till ... KenBaclawski and I seem to be the only two people on the voice conference bridge now [4:00] TillMossakowski: ok, I will join you [4:02] Daniel Couto Vale: here [4:03] TillMossakowski: OOPS! and integration: http://webconf.soaphub.org/conf/room/hc-07-integration [4:03] TillMossakowski: OOPS! and Ontohub integration [4:04] MariaPovedaVillalon: sorry, I can't find the slides [4:04] MariaPovedaVillalon: could you paste the link, please? [4:05] MariaPovedaVillalon: no worries [4:05] TillMossakowski: http://www.informatik.uni-bremen.de/~till/2013-04-13-ontology-summit-hackathon-HC07-slides-API.pdf [4:05] MariaPovedaVillalon: just found them [4:05] MariaPovedaVillalon: :) [4:05] MariaPovedaVillalon: thanks [4:06] PeterYim: the vnc shared-screen server is also available: http://vnc2.cim3.net:5800/ ... view-only password: "ontolog" [4:35] PeterYim: we shall look forward to see an Ontohub-COLORE integration [4:36] TillMossakowski: COLORE can be integrated with Ontohub via the Git/SVN interface. This will be ready around Sept. 2013. Then, changes in the COLORE repo will be immediately available in Ontohub, and given that a valid SSH key is entered into Ontohub, also writing to COLORE is possible from Ontohub [4:38] MariaPovedaVillalon: from my side I would a have a suggestion but it is more about what it would be nice to ontohub to implement than the API discussion [4:39] MariaPovedaVillalon: it is not really related with the architecture we are discussing [4:43] PeterYim: there is a very nice interactive UI that we could integrate - this is from Frode Hegland of Liquid.info ( http://liquid.info ) - he was planning to, but unable to join us at the HC-04 hackathon project last week. He has sent me his code (in javascript), which is under the GPLv3 open source license. ... (without distracting the API work) when we have a chance I can show everyone how it is implemented now, and explore if we can extend that to provide ourselves a nice UI [4:44] PeterYim: I have a current version of the hyperwords server running now at (the hc-04 development server): http://ontolog-dev.cim3.net/ [4:48] julian: The current Git Frontend offers the ability to upload, modify and delete files. [4:50] julian: In the current version you need sign via a login form that uses cookies. If you want to upload/modifiy/change with a API then we need to specifiy the parameters and response codes. [4:51] TillMossakowski: specific ontology versions can be accessed via IRIs [4:55] TillMossakowski: how could the BioPortal API be simplified? One possibility is via the concept of symbol, which generalizes OWL class, OWL ObjectProperty and OWL DataProperty [4:56] PeterYim: OMV- see:; http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?OMV [4:56] TillMossakowski: another idea would be to use SparQL. But since we also have languages other than OWL, the use of SparQL would need to be at the meta level [4:58] PeterYim: MichaelGruninger would be the point person to talk to wrt OOR metadata, Michael leads the work on metadata there [4:59] TillMossakowski: OMV indeed seems to be a good ontological basis for writing the APIs [5:13] TillMossakowski: We need to ddd methods for accessing distributed ontologies ot the API [5:13] TillMossakowski: Ontology combination should be part of the API, probably as part of the static analysis of DOL. There should be static analyses for all ontology languages. Static analysis should become a separate component in the architecture picture. [5:17] TillMossakowski: Workflows could sit between Ontohub and Presentation. But workflows can also involve inferences [5:19] TillMossakowski: Workflows 1) ensure quality standards, e.g. through consistency checks (cf. BioPortal), and 2) allow multiple individuals to collaboratively develop ontologies (e.g. through approval procedures, used by standards bodies) [5:20] MariaPovedaVillalon: A bit more updated information about OMV http://www.oeg-upm.net/files/material/dissertation-RAP-Digital.pdf [5:24] PeterYim: Till: let's go to this document - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZTSCchPcjCPnVfKjqS1HLyTeEqh7svJghHiJhnOd5x4/edit?usp=sharing [5:26] KenBaclawski: The gatekeeping module is not currently in the new architecture. It interacts both with the OntoHub and the inference modules and the Presentation module would be required to use the gatekeeper to ensure that the policies of the repository are enforced. [5:49] PeterYim: == this hc-07 project will continue on skype, please put your name and skype-id below [5:49] PeterYim: . [5:49] TillMossakowski: Till tillmo2 [5:50] PeterYim: PeterYim ... yimpp1 [5:50] KenBaclawski: My skype id is kenbaclawski, but I cannot stay much longer. [5:50] PeterYim: (but I will not be on this call for the next two hours) [5:50] FrancescaQuattri: I'll mostly keep an eye on the open doc and join the other open call as well. otherwise: blogchance [5:50] MariaPovedaVillalon: m.poveda but I'm also joining Peter in the other project call for now [5:51] FrancescaQuattri: thanks a lot! [5:51] PeterYim: Bremen team will work locally ... anyone else who wants to join please ping on the chat [5:51] MariaPovedaVillalon: I'm in the chat of the integration if you need something [5:52] PeterYim: == open webcast segment for HC-07 is now adjourned [5:52] PeterYim: (conf call session ended) [9:35] List of attendees: Christian, Daniel Couto Vale, FrancescaQuattri, KenBaclawski, MariaPovedaVillalon, PeterYim, TillMossakowski, anonymous, hburg1234, henning, julian [9:36] Sent transcript to: ppy@cim.us ------
