Tasks to be accomplished in Nov-2010 3.1 Start discussing the candidate summit theme via the mailing list 3.2 explore possibilities of engaging key communities for respective themes in the final; 3.2.1 maybe even engaging the support of a few very crucial individuals. 3.3 have a virtual panel session to help finalize on the choice of OntologySummit2011 theme 4. Tasks to be accomplished in Dec-2010 4.1 Identify the OntologySummit2011 theme 4.2 identify the co-organizers of OntologySummit2011 4.3 set up the OntologySummit2011 organizing committee 4.4 write-up the OntologySummit2011 Title/Goal/Objective/Description statements 4.5 start recruiting OntologySummit2011 Advisory Committee and OntologySummit2011 co-sponsors 4.6 set up the event plan & schedule for OntologySummit2011 (spannig Jan~Mar/Apr-2011) 4.7 possibly lock-in the OntologySummit2011 Symposium Dates (event to be held at the NIST campus in Gaithersburg) [1] Ref. Research, Design, Planning and Organization of the Summit Working with NIST, other co-organizers and the broader community in: * identifying suitable themes for the summit * research on feasibility and viability of the final shortlist of candidate themes * arriving at a decision on the theme * research on the key issues relevant to the selected theme * deciding on the structure for the Summit * identifying and recruiting top experts and leaders (of the ontology community and other communities relevant to the chosen theme) to engage in the championship of various elements of the Summit program * the recruitment of leading institutions relevant to the selected theme as co-organizers (this is in addition to the core co-organizers) * the formation of a Summit Organizing Committee * the formation of a Summit Advisory Committee * the recruitment of co-sponsors (generally institutions representing the communities involved who are supportive of our Summit theme, goals and objectives) * setting up the infrastructure to support the organization and deployment of the Summit program
