[13:26] anonymous: FWIW, I get "incorrect conference ID" on the phone [13:27] anonymous morphed into AxelPolleres [13:27] Ian Horrocks: Hello! [13:28] anonymous1 morphed into aharth [13:31] Tania Tudorache: Hello [13:31] AxelPolleres: Hi all, sounded interesting... but have problems getting audio (trying to dial in via skype) any ideas? [13:32] AlanRector1 morphed into AlanRector [13:32] anonymous1 morphed into Jim Carlson [13:32] Melanie Courtot morphed into MelanieCourtot [13:33] anonymous2 morphed into JyotiPathak [13:33] anonymous1 morphed into CuiTao [13:33] AxelPolleres: I am in [13:33] AxelPolleres: no worries [13:34] anonymous morphed into Tom Brunner [13:34] Ian Horrocks: I am speaking now [13:35] Tania Tudorache: we can't hear you [13:35] Ian Horrocks: You are not hearing me [13:35] anonymous morphed into Elizabeth Florescu [13:37] anonymous morphed into PavithraKenjige [13:37] anonymous1 morphed into M. Scott Marshall [13:40] PeterYim: now speaking - Mr. MatthewHorridge (U of Manchester) - "The OWL API: a Java API for working with OWL 2 ontologies" [13:43] Frank Chum: Are the versions backward compatible? [13:51] AxelPolleres: What's the relation OWLAPI vs dig regarding the reasoning interface? [13:54] PeterYim: (just for those who are unfamiliar with the process) we will hold Q&A until after all the presentations are done. We should have plenty of time for discussion then. Feel free to capture your questions or remarks here, partly using this as a placeholder, and partly to document that for the records [14:03] PeterYim: now speaking - Dr. TimRedmond & Dr. TaniaTudorache (Stanford-BMIR) - "The Protégé Tool Suite for Editing OWL Ontologies" [14:05] Frank Chum: slide 6 [14:08] Nicolas Rouquette: It is often difficult to tell which ontology asserted a particular axiom and which axioms a particular ontology asserts. [14:09] Nicolas Rouquette: The class browser view in particular shows all classes across all loaded ontologies -- although we can show the ontology-specific prefix to tell which ontology declares a particular class, it is sometimes difficult to get a sense of all the classes declared in a particular ontology. [14:13] PeterYim: slide #10 now [14:18] PeterYim: slides 13 ... [14:26] PeterYim: now speaking - Dr. AndreasHarth (The NeOn Project; Institute AIFB, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) - "The NeOn Toolkit" [14:28] Mike Hewett: I can't view this presentation on Windows XP. It is blank after the first page. It gives an error about a missing font "PPMMCL+Verdana". I had the same problem with the first presentation. [14:28] PeterYim: the slides are at: http://ontolog.cim3.net/file/work/OWL2/OWL-2_Tools-n-Applications/neon-toolkit-owl2--AndreasHarth_20100805.pdf [14:29] PeterYim: those under the "wip" directory were "work-in-progress" only [14:29] PeterYim: please download the slides under: http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?ConferenceCall_2010_08_05#nid2FD6 [14:35] Yekaterina Pomiak: What slide are we on? [14:36] Mike Hewett: 12 [14:36] Yekaterina Pomiak: Thank you [14:42] PeterYim: now speaking - Dr. EvrenSirin (Clark & Parsia) - "Pellet: OWL 2 Reasoner" [14:52] AxelPolleres: afraid I need to run, thanks for the interesting talks! [14:55] PeterYim: thank you for your participation - the entire proceedings will be available on our archives - slides, audio recording, chat transcript, and all (just come back to the session page in a day or two) [15:08] PeterYim: now speaking - Mr. EricChan & Dr. AlanWu (OASIS ICOM TC; Oracle) - "Application of OASIS Integrated Collaboration Object Model (ICOM) with Oracle Database 11g Semantic Technologies" [15:08] anonymous morphed into Tom Brunner [15:11] RaviSharma1: Evren - Pronto, does it break the distribution into histograms and for each histogram you get the same reasoned answer i.e. is it equivalent to making it deterministic within the histogram for a given axiom (or / Assertion)? [15:13] RaviSharma1: Evren - how does Pronto discover inferences that are probabilistic does it apply the above process in previous question in reverse to fill a particular histogram with population / samples? [15:20] Evren Sirin: Pronto uses lexicographic entailment algorithms to perform default probabilistic reasoning [15:20] Evren Sirin: The semantics is based on first order probabilistic logic [15:21] Evren Sirin: The computation of probabilistic inferences has several steps and involves solving linear equations among others [15:25] Enrico Franconi: Evrin, which is the reference for the integrity constraint validator? Is it just what we can find on the web page? [15:28] Frank Chum: Thank you all. Great presentations! Sorry I have to run. [15:29] Evren Sirin: There is: Jiao Tao, Evren Sirin, Jie Bao, Deborah L. McGuinness, Integrity Constraints in OWL, AAAI2010 [15:29] Evren Sirin: http://www.aaai.org/ocs/index.php/AAAI/AAAI10/paper/download/1931/2229 [15:29] Rex Brooks1: I had a bunch of questions, but they'll wait. [15:29] Enrico Franconi: cheers [15:29] PeterYim: more question ... see: http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?ConferenceCall_2010_08_05#nid2FCF [15:29] Evren Sirin: Enrico, longer technical report has several corrections: http://www.cs.rpi.edu/%7Etaoj2/publications/ic-tr-2010-0607.pdf [15:30] Nicolas Rouquette: Thanks Evren! [15:30] Rex Brooks1: Perhaps we could schedule a follow-up session dedicated to questions with these panelists and few others? [15:30] Enrico Franconi: ciao Ian! [15:30] Zhe Wu: Thanks Ian [15:30] RaviSharma1: thanks bye. [15:31] M. Scott Marshall1: thanks! bye. [15:31] PeterYim: Great session ... thank you Ian and all our panelists [15:31] aharth: good bye! [15:32] Zhe Wu: bye [15:32] Matthew Horridge: Thanks for listening, Cheers, Matthew [15:32] PeterYim: thank you all for coming ... we will have to do the Q&A and discussion on the [ontolog-forum] mailing list. [15:33] PeterYim: if you aren't already a member of Ontolog (which gets you subscribed to the [ontolog-forum] discussion list), please refer to membership details at: http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?WikiHomePage#nid1J [15:33] PeterYim: -- session ended: 2010.08.05 - 12:32pm PDT --
