[09:55] GeorgeThomas: nice to see many of the LDIF tools in the LOD2 stack :) [10:05] WilSmith: yea slowly pushing the rock of LDIF adoption up the mountain :) [10:02] PeterYim: == StephenLarson presenting ... [10:04] SimonSpero: (SunSITE set up a collaborative neuroscience environment using PARC's lamba-MOO back in 1993) This looks better [10:19] JesseWang: LDIF has been used in Neurobase, a semantic wiki to integrate various sources of neuroscience related data. The wiki is running at http://neurowiki.alleninstitute.org/index.php/Main_Page [10:20] JesseWang: Recap of NeuroLex talk: NIF vision: Google for neuroscience databases.NeuroLex uses semantic wiki to help integrate, curate and improve data quality (starting in vocabularies). [10:20] PeterYim: [since JonWeers is not online yet] we are moving Bernadette's presentation up [10:20] PeterYim: == BernadetteHyland presenting ... [10:33] JackPark: http://callimachusproject.org looks really interesting [10:35] GeorgeThomas: http://www.hdiforum.org/ [10:36] GeorgeThomas: the 'Health Datapalooza', as US Fed CTO Todd Park likes to say [11:30] FrankOlken: Bernadette, It is most unfortunate that the Health Data Initiative Forum meeting is scheduled on top of SemTech (June 3~7, 2012 - San Francisco). [10:42] anonymous1 morphed into EdDodds [10:44] StephenLarson: Great presentation Bernadette! Definitely some areas of synergy between our efforts! [11:01] BernadetteHyland: @StephenLarson, thank and I would really enjoy speaking to you further about your project experiences. [11:02] StephenLarson: @Bernadette -- definitely -- lets touch base after [10:43] PeterYim: == PeterYim, LeoObrst, MikeDean, KenBaclawski presenting ... [11:08] EricChan: Ken mentioned about collaboration and social networking ontology ICOM (slide #9, OOR), which is defined by OASIS ICOM TC. The committee specification draft http://docs.oasis-open.org/icom/icom-ics/v1.0/csprd03/icom-ics-v1.0-csprd03.html is currently in public review phase. We expect the TC to approve this draft as the Committee Specification of ICOM v1 after the public review. Peter and I are nominating Ken to lead the effort for ICOM v2 to incorporate social networking model. [11:02] PeterYim: == panel reactions now ... [11:02] LinePouchard: who is speaking please? [11:02] BernadetteHyland: That is JeanneHolm (Data.gov evangelist/NASA) [11:05] StephenLarson: http://neuinfo.org/about/index.shtm [11:03] PeterYim: I notice JonWeers is on the voice bridge now [11:06] PeterYim: we'll try to move over to JonWeers OpenEI presentation right after this comment [11:08] PeterYim: == JonWeers presenting ... [11:40] JonWeers: Recaping phone convo: OpenEI is looking to host the second installment of an Internation Effort to promote LOD and Open Government initiatives. Will be looking for participants, and volunteers for organization. Feel free to contact me if interested. [11:23] PeterYim: == open Q&A and discussion now ... [11:23] BillNadal: great presentations, thank you! can anyone speak to the need/usage for rules in their projects or frameworks; i.e. the use of SWRL or RIF (rule interchange format)? [11:29] GeorgeThomas: starting to experiment with RIF impl's like http://www.revelytix.com/content/rex - generally more interested in SPARQL centric approaches like http://spinrdf.org/ though [11:26] BillNadal: [ ref. various panelists' responses and PeterYim's suggestion to check out ChrisWelty's RIF talk, and MartinOConnor's SWRL presentations on the [http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?WikiHomePage#nidZ Ontolog Event Archives] ] will do, thanks [11:28] PeterYim: == Does the community want to move things forward, after these two "Big Open Data" sessions? How? [11:28] BoNewman: Most clearly would like to see this moved forward, only which I was in a position to contribute [11:30] GeorgeThomas: I have a hard stop at 2:30 - want to again say thanks to Peter and the Ontolog Forum co-conveners for putting together a great session today - I'm happy to support any collaboration going forward - please see my bio page if anyone wants to follow up with me [11:30] MikeDean: I have to drop off for another telecon. Good session! [11:31] LeoObrst: Thanks, all! [11:31] BernadetteHyland: I suggested that future discussions around Big Data, Open Government Data expressed as Linked Data, etc include sub-domains who can help guide use cases for the application of semantic technologies. [11:31] EdDodds: Articles in the news recently articles related to Google's work: "Introducing the Knowledge Graph: things, not strings" http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2012/05/introducing-knowledge-graph-things-not.html fwiw [11:31] GeorgeThomas: Things not Strings! :) [11:31] JesseWang: I have a 11:30 meeting, got to go, thank you all for all the great presentations and discussion! Much appreciated! [11:32] anonymous1 morphed into JonWeers [11:32] BillNadal: Thanks George, great links [11:34] BoNewman: I would be interested in hearing from those working in the area of multi-perpspective ontologies and the automated identification of a person or organizationals operational ontologies. bo.newman[at]km-fourm.org [11:36] PeterYim: @BernadetteHyland - speaking on the phone now, is RaviSharma [11:35] EdDodds: [ref.
