David Whitten is a VistA manager working at the Central Regional Hospital, under the State owned Hospitals, under the Dept. of Health and Human Services of the US State of North Carolina. For 18 years, He was a senior computer specialist with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Houston, Texas. He has been working in Medical Informatics for over 30 years. He holds a masters degree in computer science and has worked on knowledge bases and artificial intelligence. He has also worked for such employers as Houston's Methodist Hospital, the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) as well as the VA.
