Laure Vieu (1964) studied computer science in Toulouse. In 1991 she obtained a Ph.D. in computer science at the Université Paul Sabatier in Toulouse on the Semantics of Spatial Expressions and the Representation of Space. She has been an INRA researcher from 1991 to 1993 and since 1993 she is a CNRS (French National Research Council) research fellow, at IRIT, Toulouse, France. Since January 2003, she is on a long-term visit at LOA-ISTC-CNR.    (1YBN)

Research interests    (1YBO)

Laure's past research has been structured around two main topics and their interplay: on the one hand, formal semantics, lexical semantics and discourse semantics; on the other hand, axiomatic theories and ontologies for the representation of space, time and material entities from a cognitive point of view. She is currently working on the discourse theory SDRT, on annotated discourse corpora, and on the ontology of action, interaction and social reality.    (1YBP)
