Dr. Charles Ehrlich has served in the NIST Program Director's Office and held positions as the Chief and Deputy Chief of the NIST Technical Standards Activities Program in the Office of Standards Services, and the Group Leader of the International Legal Metrology Group in the NIST Weights and Measures Division. Dr. Ehrlich serves on behalf of the U.S. Department of State as the U.S. Member of the International Committee on Legal Metrology, the oversight body of the International Organization of Legal Metrology, and is a member of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures' Joint Committee on Guides for Metrology Working Group 1 that is responsible for the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM), and chair of Working Group 2 that is responsible for the International Vocabulary of Basic and General Terms in Metrology (VIM). Dr. Ehrlich also served a term on the ANSI Executive Standards Council from 1999 – 2002 and represented ANSI. He serves as Co-Chairman of ISO TAG4 (Metrology), and represents NIST on the NCSLI Intrinsic and Derived Standards Committee.    (25Y1)

Dr. Ehrlich earned his Bachelors Degree in Physics from the University of Miami in 1973 and his Ph.D. in Solid State Surface Physics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1979    (25Y2)
